Maria and Ethan first crossed paths in early 2021 in Miami. Ethan was visiting from Washington, D.C. to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday, and she had come all the way from Colombia to receive her Covid vaccine.

Maria happened to be a friend of a friend of a friend's wife's friend, a connection that seemed distant on paper but quickly became irrelevant when Ethan laid eyes on her for the first time. It was love at first sight for Ethan, even though she had reservations about a guy from D.C.
Three weeks later, Maria had planned to return for her second vaccine shot, and Ethan managed to persuade her to extend her stay so they could spend more time together. The rest, as they say, is history.
In the pursuit of their love, Ethan relocated to Miami to be closer to Maria, and not long after, she made the same move. Today, they both call Miami home, sharing their lives with their beloved cat, Lucca.

Cartagena boasts a beautiful, historic city with plenty to offer. If you plan to extend your trip for a full week, consider exploring Santa Marta and Medellin, both of which are just one-hour flights from Cartagena. Here are a few of our favorite recommendations in the Old Town and Getsemaní. However, we also encourage you to explore the streets and immerse yourself in the charm of the Old Town. Feel free to wander, discovering cozy cafes, restaurants, and bars that pique your interest along the way.
